- To add a transparent background after conversion, open the PNG in an image editor and use the background-erase or magic-wand tool.

Why Convert JPG to PNG?
People convert JPEG to PNG to switch from lossy JPEG to lossless PNG to preserve full image quality, and to gain transparency support that JPEG lacks.
Lossless PNG is the right choice whenever you plan to edit the image further or need pixel-perfect quality for UI assets, icons, or print. Unlike JPG, saving PNG multiple times introduces no additional quality loss.
