Choosing the Right Format
WEBP
Best for web images. WEBP offers 25–35 % smaller file sizes than JPEG at the same visual quality, with full transparency support. Ideal for photographs and graphics on websites.
PNG
Best for images that require lossless quality and a transparent background — logos, icons, screenshots, and diagrams. File sizes are larger than WEBP but every pixel is preserved.
JPG / JPEG
The universal format for photographs. Supported by every device and software. Use JPG when you need broad compatibility and a smaller file size, and transparency is not required.
AVIF
Next-generation format with excellent compression and HDR color support. AVIF can be 50 % smaller than JPEG. Best for modern browsers and high-quality web delivery.
Convert a raster image to a PDF document — useful for printing, archiving, or attaching images in document workflows. Each image becomes a single-page PDF.
ICO
Required for browser favicons. ICO files can contain multiple resolutions in one file (16×16, 32×32, 48×48). Convert a PNG or JPG logo to ICO for use as a website icon.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the image converter free to use?
Yes, completely free. There are no file limits per session, no subscription, no account required, and no watermarks added to your output files.
Are my uploaded images stored on your servers?
Files are stored only as long as needed for conversion — a maximum of 5 minutes. After that they are automatically and permanently deleted. No human ever views your files, and they are not used for any other purpose.
What is the maximum file size?
The maximum upload size is 5 MB per file. If your file is larger, you can reduce its size with a photo editor before uploading, or convert it to a more efficient format such as WEBP or AVIF first.
What image formats can I convert?
You can convert between 25+ formats including JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, HEIC, AVIF, SVG, PDF, PSD, ICO, JXL, AVIF, QOI, TGA, EXR, DDS, APNG, and more. Output formats include PNG, WEBP, JPG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, AVIF, ICO, and PDF.
Why convert JPG to WEBP?
WEBP images are typically 25–35 % smaller than equivalent JPEGs at the same visual quality. Switching to WEBP speeds up your website, improves Core Web Vitals scores, and reduces bandwidth costs. All major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) fully support WEBP.
Can I convert a HEIC photo from iPhone to JPG?
Yes. Upload your HEIC file and select JPG as the output format. HEIC is the default photo format on Apple devices running iOS 11 and later. Converting to JPG makes the photo compatible with Windows, Android, and virtually all software.
Does converting reduce image quality?
It depends on the formats involved. Converting between lossless formats (PNG → BMP, PNG → TIFF) preserves full quality. Converting to a lossy format (any → JPG or WEBP with lossy settings) applies compression. For web use, the quality difference is usually imperceptible at standard compression levels.
How do I convert a PNG to ICO for a favicon?
Upload your PNG logo, select ICO as the output format, and click Convert. The tool will produce an ICO file at 256×256 pixels. For a standard browser favicon, resize your image to 32×32 or 64×64 pixels before uploading to get an optimally sized favicon.ico.
